Acid mine drainage (AMD) is one of the biggest issues faced by mining and mineral processing industries in terms removing heavy metals from effluents. The present study investigated effects glyoxylic acid, hydrazine dimethylamine borane as reducing agents effect using Ni, Fe, basic oxygen furnace slag (BOFS) granulated blast (GBFS) seeding materials to remove acidic effluents respectively. experiments were conducted effluent a 0.5 L batch reactor different first its kind examine compare all four X-ray diffraction (XRD) patterns, scanning electron microscope (SEM), Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) spectrometer used analyse material before after Electroless plating.. suggests that BOFS effective seed together with agent yielded 99.9% removal Fe (III), whilst Ni powder failed effectively. During reduction precipitation, nucleation breakage identified predominant particulate processes based on particle size distribution (PSD) evolution moments. There significant phases formed, such bownmillerites Ca2(Al, Fe)2O5, which formed replacing Si Al tetrahedral coordinations between Al, Si, suggesting chemisorption being dominant mechanism.
